mom and dad are both home resting.  mom is working on getting better so she can take care of dad.  dad is working on getting stronger so he can enjoy what time he has left.  he no longer has time or interest in continuing in business.  so i have made arrangements to buy his car lot(all american remarketing).  i will also start operation of a towing company as well (accelerated towing, transport, and roadservice).

there are a whole lot of projects sitting around.  as i get through them i will occasionally post some of them on here and offer you some real good wholesale deals.

as far as towing goes:  our target date is january 10, 2010. we will offer towing, vehicle transport, and road service.  our road service will include anything from changing tires, jump starts, lock outs, and light mechanical repairs to get you back going.  we will carry an array of new and recon batteries if your's is shot.  this van will be equipped to handle your needs.  also we will offer a speedrome discount on tows and road service.  all you have to say is speedrome to get it.

you know it is bad when figure 8 news is the most active of the three sites.  come on guys we can't let that board out perform this one.

thank you for all your prayers and support.  dad is resting at home.  mom still is having problems with her digestive system accepting food.  she is weak do to she hasn't been able keep food down for days.  that is why she is still in the hospital.  we will eventually take dad to chicago for a second opinion but his time in this life is coming to the end.  he is expected to live about a year.  so we are going to spend a lot of time building memories as a family.  i hope to have him with me at the race tracks some this summer.  so consequently i have a lot of work to do on the cars.  i hope to have all three of the street stocks together. both speedrome and the salem car.  any one wishing to lend a hand to make that happen, let me know.  if you would like to send a note of encouragement to my parents you can do so in care of dad's car lot.

yesterdays biopsy looks like our worst fears are reality.  we'll know more in a couple of days.

Posted on 11-02-2009 01:01:41

just figured it might help you sell it if it were an ara truck.

Posted on 11-01-2009 19:22:46

are you sure it is asa truck instead of an ara truck?  this might help people know what you have.  also try to post it on the ara web sight.  you'll have to contact stew quackenbush who manages the series.  they have a web sight, indy url.com i believe will still take you there.  asa is a complete fabbed chassis.  where ara were built off metric chassis.

thanks again for all your support.  here's the latest on both my parents.  my mom's surgery went well.  the mass was removed in tact. pathology  came back it is cancer but the surgeon is optimistic that he got it all.  there doesn't appear to be any more in her body.  there will be some kemo to make sure there aren't any cells still hanging around.  now dad still is a lot more complicated.  he fades in and out of being aware of his surroundings.  my brother is there still awaiting to talk with the doctors.  they have really been vague at this point.  don't know so much about his case.  thanks again.

i appreciate those who responded and those who will respond soon.  it has been a rough month with my mom going in one hospital to have ovarian cancer removed.  dad being another, in the icu, with a drain in his head draining spinal fluid from his brain cavity.  mom's surgery is scheduled for 10:30 friday morning.  we are awaiting a biopsy procedure to determine if dad has the kind of brain cancer that killed ted kennedy.  if so it is in operable and he has about six months to a year.  i pray multiple times a day about a lot of things and people, that is just who i am.  i ask even if you never pray please do so for both my parents and their recovery.  they have been married for fourty three almost fourty four years.  they are still very into each other and are best friends as well.  my mom is a retired teacher who educated a lot of people in the 32 years she taught.  my dad is a retired manager from the ford plant around the corner from the speedrome.  he was a winning drag racer in the 1960's.  the two of them took me to my first race at the speedrome around 1974.  i have loved the place good and bad since.

just was looking at the 2010 schedule for speedrome.  i only see two non figure 8 races in excess of 100 laps.  the kenny's 100 for stocks and an all star 200 for hornets.  am i missing something?  i know i love running those 200 lap races.

first question:  would you participate in a series that the entry level car would be a hornet that had to maintain stock specs.  the second level would be a stock that was a minimum of 108 inches, 350 with .030 over bore, cast iron intake, cast iron rear dump exhaust, and a two barrel carb.  both divisions on what ever street tire you put on it.

second question:  would you travel up to 1 hour to race in this series using a mixture of dirt and paved tracks.  mostly county fairgrounds.

third question:  would you want to run oval, figure eight, autocross, or all three.

whether you are a current, past, or wanna be racer please give your input.

it was a long day to say the least.  i worked the night before from 5p. to 4 a.  had to be at a meeting at church at 7 a.  finished at 9 a.  slept from 9:30 to 1:30.   had some one sending me multiple text messages keeping me awake most of the time.  told him what he wanted to hear so he would leave me alone.  which was he could drive my hornet in the eight.  woke up, got me and kids to the shop to meet up with doug carver, ken hood, and barry white.  we arrived at the fairgrounds just before the drivers meeting started.  went out to practice.  i was out on the autocross course with the full size cars.  the ones in front of me kept ending up sideways in the corners.  a olds delta painted like lightning mcqueen rammed me from behind when i had to stop and she didn't.  ran the first of two autocross features.  i got dumped right of the bat.  so i was trafic after that.  but doug did win that race.  had about as much sucess the second race.  then the mechanics race was right after that.  long time crew member ken hood won that race driving my s10 beating two full size cars with v8s and another s10.  good job ken.  we then had to wait through several derby heats, truck derby with three trucks, and a lawnmower derby.  which i will withold how rediculous a lawnmower derby is. then we got to run the eight.  doug carver won the eight, a young woman named kayla adams was second, and barry white finished third.  the guy who wanted to drive my truck so bad well we won't talk about where he finshed.  i took my kids home met barry back at the shop to let him in and help unload the green s10.  i arrived home at 2:30.  that was a long day.

team trophy count

doug carver second in the main event
barry white third in main

doug carver first in the eight
barry white third in the eight

oh yeah, the only two hornets that met in the cross over, well i owned them both.   i just wish i had driven the eight it looked like fun out there.

yes we missed you.  next one is next sunday in scottsburg.  starts at 1:30 i think.  best thing is call jr. at 812-238-8012.

Posted on 10-23-2009 12:06:36

 vehicle is no longer available.

Posted on 10-22-2009 18:01:42

i have added a car to the team.  i have an opening in another one as a result.  the green s-10 that was driven by barry in july is available.  this truck finished fourth out of ten in july's event.  the format for saturday is autocross heat, auto cross feature, and figure 8 feature.  it is for rent for $50 and you will need to tow it to the race yourself.  entry and pit ban combined are $30.  fifteen for anyone who joins you in the pits.  you'll need $5 to $10 in fuel for the race vehicle (pump gas).  so less than $100 to go racing saturday.  call me 317-339-1350.

Posted on 10-21-2009 16:18:31

cool, see you there.  i think you'll become addicted to these races the way doug and i have.

Posted on 10-21-2009 05:37:46

cool, who is driving your second one?

Posted on 10-20-2009 18:42:55

promoter jr. rouse added a figure 8 to the scottsburg event on november 1.  last weekends postponement of most racing events left several guys not able to come to franklin this weekend.  so we still have a great lineup for saturday and an even better one for nov 1.  teams coming to scottsburg: jimmy vincent, russ racing for 2 cars, 4 cars from m&m racing.  in addition team iron dog will take cars for doug carver, don kreisher, and maybe charlie hargraves.  barry white may drive a fourth car for team iron dog as well.  racin hawk, harold adams, will be competing in both the auto cross and figure 8 as well.
